Happy Easter from MO

Patsy, I remember those big solid bunnies and those fruit eggs. We always painted Easter eggs and Easter morning found candy in our baskets. The Easter Bunny would hide the eggs we painted -- if the weather was nice they would be outside but if it was nasty weather he hid them inside the house. Norman said just the other day that he could sure go for some Fitzkees candy. I guess they are still around? They always had the best. No candy or Easter baskets here at our house this year, but we are having our neighbors over for dinner later today. Their kids are not close by either and they had no plans. We have become good friends with them and they are such good people. They are a little older than us and retired . . . well, kind of. They have mamma cows so they stay pretty busy taking care of them. Last time I asked they had 22 babies. I'm making a ham and scalloped potatoes and a veggie, nothing fancy. LaDonna, your rolls look delicious. I get by but Nicole has all the cooking talent in this family -- my bread is the store bought kind that you just heat in the oven! I am thinking about making a cake, though. I found a recipe for a Belgium Honey Cake that sounds really good -- sounds similar to a pound cake I think. I have a little honey left from the folks that I moved bees for last fall so I thought I mght try it.

Doris, I know you will have a wonderful Easter with your family and I pray that you feel good throughout the day and so you can enjoy every minute of it . . . and of course, that the coming days are not so bad for you.

Today is cloudy and cooler with rain in the forecast. Yesterday was an absolutely gorgeous day and Norman is home so we loaded up the mules and went to Noblett Lake to ride. It was just perfect, couldn't get any better for riding. I feel so blessed to be able to enjoy days like yesterday -- each day truly is a gift, especially days like that. The dogwood are starting to bloom and if we have a few more warm days they should be beautiful by next weekend.

Well, guess I better get upstairs and get busy. Just wanted to say hello and wish everyone a wonderful Easter Day.

Kathy
