HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE.
You made me think of Easter's past, LaDonna. Remember the solid Chocolate Easter Bunnies we used to get, now they are all hollow and small. They used to have great big ones and what a treat it was to get one. They would last forever. It was always a big decision as how to eat them. Did you start at the ears and eat down or start at the tail and eat up. Then you would go look for yours and someone had broken the ear off and taken it. (Probably Tommy).
I was also thinking of the coconut, fruit, caramel, and chocolate eggs. They sold them in pound sizes and smaller. Now you can hardly find them. I remember Frances McDowell used to always make homemade ones, of all flavors, decorate them, and bring them out from Baltimore. Wow where they good. It was a tradition for her, and she always wore those seer-sucker outfits that matched. Skirt and blouse, so neat, she had them in all colors. Do you remember that Kenny? It was when we lived at the old schoolhouse.
Kenny remember when they had the Easter Egg Hunt out at the Stewartstown Fair Grounds? They were real colored eggs and we would go up there days after the hunt and still find eggs. They gave out Easter Baskets, etc. if you found a prize egg. Now you couldn't do that because someone would protest if their child didn't get the prize....
It made me think of Mom and her deviled eggs, she would make two plates of them, hide one, because she knew Charlie would eat one plate before dinner....
The pictures of your GRAND kids are wonderful...Em is growing up way too fast----
I'm going to join Joe, Julie, Aidan, Travis, Stephi, Doris, Michael, Kenny for dinner this evening, around 5 too. Julie told me to bring desserts, which is right up my alley, so I made a Coconut Flan, and a Chocolate cake with Peanut Butter Icing to take....
Hope everyone has a wonderful day and that Doris can enjoy and next week isn't as bad as other weeks after Chemo have been.
Love to all,
Aunt P
